If you are a rental property owner and have decided to have a property management company rent out your property for you they may or may not provide you the tenant’s contact information depending on the situation. Property management companies have reasons for doing so in each situation and we will provide you some insight into why as below.
If you hire a property management company to place tenants in your rental property and manage the property for you, they will not provide you the tenants contact information. The reason for this is that the property management company wants to keep you as the homeowner out of the situation so that the tenants do not call you at 2 am with a maintenance request, or to ask you a question about the lease. If a property management company is managing your rental property, they are doing just that, by being the contact for tenant questions and answers.
If you hire a property management company to only place tenants in your rental property and you will be managing the property yourself the company will then provide you with the tenants contact information as you will be the one collecting rent, answering lease questions, and handling maintenance requests.
